Atroli (Aligarh): The Indian Farmers’ Union (BKU) has launched a protest against the Lots Poultry Farm and egg factory located in Pipri Narayanpur, Atroli. The organization alleges that the factory is spreading infections to nearly 20 nearby villages. Locals claim that the rise in flies in residential areas has led to an increase in illnesses, particularly among children.
BKU district president Bhupendra Singh said that villagers have been suffering for a long time and that despite repeated complaints, the administration has failed to take meaningful action.
Farmers’ Four-Point Demands
In a memorandum submitted to the administration, BKU outlined four key demands:
- Immediate closure of the poultry farm and egg factory.
- Stray cattle roaming in villages including Bhatpur, Pipri Narayanpur, Hajipur, and Mahuadanda should be shifted to cow shelters.
- The Health Department should conduct medical checkups of children in affected villages.
- Strict measures should be implemented to control infection and unhygienic conditions.
Call for Direct Action from Authorities
BKU office bearer Alok Arkwanshi said the protest will continue until strict action is taken. Deputy Tehsildar Santosh Kumar reached the site, but BKU leaders insisted that only the SDM’s written order to seal the factory would be accepted.
Warning of Protest March to CM’s Residence
BKU warned that if the demands are not fulfilled soon, they will march to the Chief Minister’s residence. Among those present at the protest were Sushil Chauhan, Sunil Tiwari, Awadhesh Arkwanshi, Malik Shukla, and Ranjit Yadav.
