Ambassador Gerards highlighted the partnership as a symbol of the growing economic and agricultural ties between India and the Netherlands.
Supporting Farmers and Driving Innovation
With raw materials sourced domestically, the factory is expected to boost local agri-businesses and act as a hub for knowledge sharing.
- Mr. Co De Heus, Chairman of the Board, said:
“By investing in Punjab, De Heus aims to support local agriculture and contribute to the sustainable growth of India’s livestock sector. We are committed to sharing our global expertise with Indian farmers.” - Mr. Rutger Oudejans, Managing Director of De Heus India, added:
“This factory is more than just a production site—it is a knowledge hub dedicated to providing reliable feed solutions, on-farm services, and hands-on training. We want to help Indian farmers strengthen their position in the value chain while meeting the growing demand for safe and nutritious animal protein.”
The company has also invested in sustainability by using a biomass boiler and advanced steam and water reuse systems to minimize environmental impact.
India at the Heart of De Heus’ Asia Vision
From a modest start, De Heus India has grown into a major international investment with this world-class facility. According to Co De Heus, India is now central to the company’s Asian and global ambitions, thanks to its dynamic farming community and its vital role in feeding the world’s most populous nation.
