🐐 Former Maoists Turn Entrepreneurs in Poultry & Goat Rearing

Raipur: A group of 32 surrendered Maoists from Bijapur, Bastar, have completed a month-long training in poultry and goat rearing at the Regional Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Jagdalpur.

The initiative, launched under Chhattisgarh’s new rehabilitation policy, aims to help ex-cadres rebuild their lives through skill development and self-employment.

During the training, participants learned about scientific livestock management, including breed selection, fodder planning, vaccination, disease control, and access to government loans and subsidies.

One participant shared, “Life in the forest was full of struggle. This training has given us hope and a new beginning. We can now earn an honest living and secure our families’ future.”

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai called it a shining example of how livelihood programs can transform lives and promote peace in the region.
